NIGHTLIFE

Jack continues to be the go-to contact for the ABC when nightlife is discussed. Sadly this half an hour on local radio nationally was devoted to the devastating impact of COVID-19 on the sector. Jack framed it somewhat hopefully in war terms: surmounting adversity with bravery, discipline and patience - exemplified here by Vera Lynne's We'll Meet Again (not to mention Donna Summer's State of Independence and Bruce Springsteen's Dancing In The Dark).

BREAKFAST

Not long back (yet in what now feels like another life) Jack joined Robbie Buck and Wendy Harmer to discuss the ramifications of losing so much cumulative cultural capital as The World Bar (where he was a long-term resident) became the latest victim of the NSW Government's ham-fisted and counter-productive knee-jerk implementation of lock-out laws.

DRIVE

Besides spontaneously setting Jack the task of putting together a sample of 'bed music' from each of the last seven decades, Richard Glover usually hosts Jack as one of three specialists in music, film and television.

MORNINGS

Here on Mornings: a conversation about the practice of the security sector - that the NSW Premier himself was directing his twitter followers to - and an associated discussion, about the nature of the underground party scene in Sydney:

EVENINGS

Rosie Beaton and Jack made for hilarious listening during Evenings. They had a hoot together - busting out some classic novelty tunes from the 50's and 60's for the Statewide night-time audience. Having enjoyed that experience so, Jack and Rosie were back at it just a month or two later - this time broadcasting a series of songs about 'home'. It's a moving subject, close to all of our hearts.

Additionally, Jack's reputation as a man with a certain calling (in facilitating ceremonies of love, no less) led to him spending an hour examining the role of the wedding DJ during Evenings with Robbie Buck. Listen below to a rather hilarious exposition of the highs and lows of the craft:

SUMMER BREAKFAST
