Singularly stunning scenarios in Sydney this week... Thursday January the 9th ~ OpenAir Cinema screens hotly-tipped Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown for the opening night of their summer season down by the Botanic Gardens. I'll spin sixties sounds, freak folk and protest punk from 6 until the screen rises from the harbour as night falls. This initial screening is sold out but there are several others of the flick with tix on sale. Friday January the 10th ~ Thence this slow horse will trot down to the CBD for my first return to Dean and Nancy on 22 since the insane scenes marking the first few hours of this year, high above the crowded city streets. My set spans 9 til half past midnight. Entry is free. Saturday January the 11th ~ Only hours later I'll arrive at Wharf 2/3 (the home of the ACO) in The Rocks to soundtrack the first of three consecutive Saturday Sunrise Yoga sessions for Sydney Festival. All available tickets seem to have been taken for these classes (taught by Jazz Luna) however the first of the three Wednesdays (with a different DJ) has some still on sale. Later that arvo Jack Off will air between 3 and 5, as ever, this time featuring a review of the forthcoming Dragonkeeper feature by mysterious occasional guest commentator ETA. Tune in! Lastly, I'll return to play the same wharf I did at dawn, to a very different crowd, in a much more raucous context, bracketing a couple of live performances by Brissy's Dizzy Days at Syd Fest's Moonshine Bar. Free for all from 8 til midnight. Comments are closed.
