Glimpsing the end of this year and another borne... Wednesday December the 31st ~ We are reanimating for the Christmas coma for our Hot Shit New Year's Eve DJ soirée tonight at Dean and Nancy on 22. Bookings are now (also) full. Friday January the 2nd ~ A far more casual affair plays out at ground level via the Bob Hawke Beer and Leisure Centre as the weekend begins. I'll spin records from 8 til 11. Saturday January the 3rd ~ More free floral fare proceeds apace the next day, buzzing into being with Jack Off, on air for two hours from 3, then a special sunset reprisal of Hot Shit (Hot Flush and I) selections, this time at Chuck & Sons brewery in St Peters. If enough folks rock up to enjoy this 6 til 9 summer set in our local, there's every chance this may become a regular affair there - so please swing by if you've the opportunity. It's a beautiful spot! At the start I'll be solo, thence a shared bracket, before I leave the last hour in the hands of Liz, in order to return to play earlier hours than usual at Dean and Nancy on 22, til 11.30, from 8. Wishing one & all restorative peace and pleasure. Wednesday December the 24th ~ I'll be floating into Xmas Day via the sub-city flow of the Tank Stream - playing Palmer from 10 til 2. Saturday December the 27th ~ From there: actual, eventual, rest and recreation - with only the complementary transmission of the year's last Jack Off before NYE. Til 5, from 3. Thank you so much for staying in touch here, via the airwaves, at parties and events, or simply through occasional fond (or fraught) thoughts! Life is enormously challenging and complicated, yet I am borne up by our shared curiosity, honesty and goodwill. I never take it, or our time together, for granted. I'm humbled to have been granted the chance to play a tiny part in so many wonderful lives. Enjoy this slight pause in the madness of modern life. Skip the tech as much as possible. Read a book, call yr mates, love yr kin, look at the sky, walk, swim and play music. Catch you again (all too) soon xo An impossible oasis of peace and beauty transpired between coastal infernos & mass murder here at home. I am barely beginning to process the traumas of the latter. It will take time. Until then, I hope you'll pardon me for choosing to dwell in the Pacific for this edition. I'd like to share this salve. Wednesday December the 17th ~ Sprint down the way to Palmer & Co tonight from 10-2 Thursday December the 18th ~ Just a few k's from the 16 houses incinerated last week, Wink & Spin will attempt to somehow ameliorate the terrors that have scarred us all of late. Link and Pin has been a community mainstay in every way throughout this stark start to summer. It has been an honour to play a small part in the story of this kind-peopled place. So many waters and ways meet here. Hear how by joining us for the last such gathering this year, between 6 and 10. Friday December the 19th ~ Who'd imagine a place atop a city skyscraper could be such a hub of mischief and mystery? It was a joy to play at Dean and Nancy on 22 for my first gig back. As this weekend begins I already get to reprise that vaunted vantage. From 9 til 12.30. Saturday December the 20th ~ Jack Off preceded said live return, a few hours prior. Find me surfing the spectrum again on fbi radio between 3 & 5 this (and every) Saturday. Mere minutes (well 60) later I'll pop up on the decks at Elliott's in Balmain, rendering a gentle and grateful sunset bracket in the courtyard til 9, from 6. Like all of these events, it is free. Post-birth, pre-daze-trip, single sea celebrations. Wednesday December the 3rd ~ Three free gigs before we split: Palmer & Co 10-2. Friday December the 5th ~ New 7"s 8-11 @ Bob Hawke Beer and Leisure Centre. Saturday December the 6th ~ Jack Off on fbi between 3 and 5 (suss Screensaver on the show last week here too) then party for Hot Flush @ her half-century berth-day special, wrapping Shiny Shiny for 2025 @ the Hotel Hollywood: 8-1. Saturday December the 13th ~ After the aforementioned we're off on a wee trip to the Islands, hopefully landing back home in time to reprise a similar Saturday scene with Dean and Nancy on 22 betwixt 9 and half 12, after Jack Off airs. |
