Spirits & spooks travel to free fare via water ways. Wednesday October the 30th ~ Palmer & Co proffers a hot plate to both sinners and saints, with my bad self spinning from 10PM til 2AM. Thursday October the 31st ~ Wink & Spin gets extra whack for Halloween in Woy Woy tomorrow night, moving out into the beer garden via an upgraded PA to provide the most ghastly wild life and death soundtrack for the swamp rats of the Cenny Coast and beyond. It’s a zombie apocalypse opposite the station at Link and Pin between 6 & 10. Friday November the 1st ~ Sham DJs embody true love at the Bob Hawke Beer and Leisure Centre, between half 8 and half 11. Except I bail half way for the Bat and Ball Hotel, playing there for three hours from 10.30, while Hot Flush DJ keeps drinking deep back at the brewery. Saturday November the 2nd ~ Jack Off extends a safe space to Quivers: 3 til 5. Then it's off to try the radical new cocktail menu at Dean and Nancy on 22. Edible art I imagine! Enjoy a rich and nutritious mix betwixt 9 and 12.30 x First blush, given gratis to those that know and go. Wednesday October the 23rd ~ Wildflowers bloom at Palmer & Co from 10 til 2. Friday October the 25th ~ At last it is time for the launch of a new local home for our infamous late-night hot-spot, Sin City Soirée, at Newtown's Pleasure Club! Liz and I are thrilled to be landing in such a plush and plural space of burgeoning depravity, having already played twice to enthusiastic and diverse crowds there. Staff and punters were in raptures saying they'd never seen the dance floor so packed. We hope to make this residency even more bizarre and bonkers, especially late, so require yr love to escalate! We want the final Friday of every month to embody the fabulous fuckery that we all need right now so please join us at the Pleasure Dome. A Man Called Stu plays live at 11, beyond that it's just Hot Flush DJ + me spinning til 4 from 9. It's a bent haven, safe and free for all. Come dance! Saturday October the 26th ~ Jack Off proved a wild ride last week when Bandit / Dave McCormack from Custard joined me in the studio - hear the full farce back on-demand here and/or tune in for more this week, live between 3 and 5. Then join me for cocktails, tunes and views made from the charged particles only accessible on the specific higher floors in certain vicinities, namely Dean and Nancy on 22. A gratis set from 9 til 12.30. Free sonic substances shared in the big smoke... Wednesday October the 16th ~ Palmer & Co from 10 til around 2 in the morn. Friday October the 18th ~ Dean and Nancy on 22 begins at 9, ends at half 12. Saturday October the 19th ~ Jack Off with Custard / Bandit between 3 and 5. Bob Hawke Beer and Leisure Centre 8.30 til 11.30. Dire disparity with disturbing regularity. Free fare, for those not there. Wednesday October the 9th ~ Ancient audio artefacts at Palmer & Co from 9 til 2. Friday October the 11th ~ Sham DJs summer shindig Shiny Shiny opens at the Hollywood Hotel. Hot Flush DJ and myself are set to spin dazzling daylight-saving dirges for fun-bakers and big-dippers on the 2nd Friday of each month. Saturday October the 12th ~ You can actually see Alter Boy broadcasting silence last week on Jack Off via this video of Luke's live Auslan verse - a brilliant idea typically rejected by every other radio station the band pitched it to for years. This weekend our dogged musical mine digs deeper still - alert, honest and alone from 3 til 5. Afterwards I'll scan the skyline from beside the bar between 9 and 12.30 at Dean and Nancy on 22, marvelling at the lack of drones and missiles, stunned to see such tall buildings standing still. How did we get here? Ragged radio/DJ runnings, across the Sydney Basin... Wednesday October the 2nd ~ Powder my toes at Palmer & Co, from 10 til 2. Friday October the 4th ~ Old bulbs of flood-damaged vinyl bloom at the Bob Hawke Beer and Leisure Centre between 8.30 & 11.30. Saturday October the 5th ~ If I somehow wrangle the entire prospective retinue (with Hurray For The Riff Raff likely and Alter Boy confirmed) I'll be akin to this mama duck, with 7 ducklings under her belly, this week on Jack Off. It follows a staggering show of world premieres and best-live-sound-yet (courtesy of Tongue Dissolver and audio mixing genius Henry Brister), all of which we realised amidst the chaos of an annual supporter drive (unfortunately held during a flop of a Grand Final that cruelled our efforts somewhat). Afterwards I will again bask in the civilised solace of Dean and Nancy on 22, spinning an escalating cascade of global audio gold from 9 til 12.30. Sunday October the 7th ~ Towards the end of Glitta and Juan's sensational celebration of vibrant regional diversity, the Coastal Twist Festival (climaxing with a Coastie Carnie Fair Day full of family fun, music and performance just behind Umina Beach) I'll be playing a thoughtful/sentimental set of cinematic sound in the Umina Surf Lifesaving Club from 5, warming up for the Queerscreen Short Shorts screenings unfolding after 8. Whatever you can glimpse or glance that day will be utterly fab for shore... |
