Free sonic swells traverse stormy winter seas... Wednesday July the 31st ~ Below at Palmer & Co ~ from 10 til 1.30 in the morn Friday August the 2nd ~ Grounded in the Bob Hawke Beer and Leisure Centre, spinning sevens between half 8 and half 11 Saturday August the 3rd ~ After the extraordinary experience of spending almost an hour hearing from Richard Tognetti (and his violin) last week ~ listen back here ~ Jack Off resumes uninterrupted music (alone), from 3 til 5 Thence, street-side at Maybe Sammy betwixt 6 and 9, before elevating Dean and Nancy on 22, 9 til 12.30 Unfortunately a title that I was saving for application to offshore immigration hells snuck in to the email edition of this newsletter last week, when the content was merely my fortunate fate in roaming around Australia visiting friends and family. Thus I'm explicitly flagging only local larks from that same journey this week, which has been tragic (but beautiful) for other reasons. Every escapist event below will be free - and hopefully uplifting and uniting for people of all persuasions. Wednesday July the 24th ~ Bounce yr big ears down to Palmer & Co: 10 til 1.30 Thursday July the 25th ~ The third Wink & Spin unfolds in Woy Woy: 6 til 10 Saturday July the 27th ~ After yet another astonishing exchange with Darren Hanlon last Saturday, this weekend's Jack Off finally sees fruition of a longstanding aim to air the virtuosic violin stylings of the Australian Chamber Orchestra's Richard Tognetti. I can barely believe that Richard has agreed to play a few minutes of one of my favourite pieces (Fratres), by my favourite composer (Arvo Pärt). There is so much I wish to discuss with Richard but I'm honestly not sure how I will be able to form words after hearing that. Tune in to Free Broadcast Incorporated for silence and serendipity: 3 til 5 Thence I do the double again - Maybe Sammy: 6 til 9 Dean and Nancy on 22 (photo credit ETA): 9 til 12.30 Dappled light and dancing waters beyond the border/s Wednesday July the 17th ~ Ninderry to Sydney via TV footy for Palmer & Co 10-2 Saturday July the 20th ~ Jack Off with old mate Dazzler Hanlon (fresh from my visit to his Gympie home tomorrow): 3-5 on FBi Another free fling, at Dean and Nancy on 22: 9-12.30 More free midwinter music, in person and on air. Wednesday July the 10th ~ Palmer & Co while the city sleeps, from 10 til 1.30 Friday July the 12th ~ Above the trees at Dean and Nancy, between 9 & 12.30 Saturday July the 13th ~ Jack Off from 3 til 5, via 94.5FM or digital/streams Grounded girth and glee at Maybe Sammy from 6 til 9 Ancient audio alchemy freely flung towards the sun. Wednesday July the 3rd ~ Seated at Palmer & Co, from 10 til 1.30 or so. Friday July the 5th ~ Standing to sling sevens for three hours at the Bob Hawke Beer and Leisure Centre, beginning at half 8. Saturday July the 6th ~ Cock yr head to hear Jack Off on FBi between 3 & 5. Then go full flamingo from 6 til 9 at Maybe Sammy. |
